Coaching Certificates & Accomplishments

People are in the front row of your life, because you either put them there or you have decided to allow them to remain there.

I am a veteran at this and I am happy to be in the Wisdom Circle as a Thinking Partner with my clients.

Barbara’s compassionate and purposeful leadership has had a transformational impact across public and private sector landscapes.

In the public policy arena, Barbara is one of six women who co-founded the Los Angeles African American Women’s Public Policy Institute (LAAAWPPI), with the goal of creating an endless pipeline of women prepared for public office. Since first launching in 2002, there have been more than 350 graduates of the LAAAWPPI Program with a growing and impressive list of appointed and elected leaders.

In 2009, with a desire to expand her policy work, Barbara invited Policy Expert, Ka Flewellen, to join her in co-founding the International Black Women’s Public Policy Institute. (IBWPPI). The work of IBWPPI continues to be a priority in Barbara’s life. She is currently serving as President and CEO of the organization, where she is guiding an international board of distinguished women representing international countries and major cities across the United States.

Barbara’s impact also included partnering with World Spiritual Leader Dr. Iyanla Vanzant in 2012 and serving as Executive Director of Inner Visions Spiritual Life Maintenance, Inc. Barbara successfully applied her expertise as a change agent in guiding this 30-year old institute through a reorganization, branding, and development process.

The talents of this trail-blazing woman, mentored by women whose legacies she amplifies with intention every opportunity she gets, have been noticed by Governors, Mayors, and other elected leaders. She was appointed to multiple leadership and service positions by two former Governors, Pete Wilson and Gray Davis of the State of California. She was also appointed by three Mayors to Los Angeles City Commissions and Committees, working on behalf of local women, families, and communities. Most notably, the County Board of Supervisors appointed her to serve on the Los Angeles County Commission for Women, where she served as President for two consecutive years and was concurrently an active member for ten years.
